The Assurance Service is entirely complimentary and designed to help you build confidence in your licensing decisions. When questions arise about current licenses or planned purchases within your organization, you may request and schedule the Assurance Service to seek verification that your decisions align with your Oracle contracts and Oracle’s licensing policies.

You decide the following elements to work with us on:

1. The business entity(ies) or subsidiary(ies)
2. A singular Oracle program or multiple Oracle programs (for example, Oracle Database + options/packs OR Oracle Database + Oracle Fusion Middleware + Oracle E-Business Suite, and so on)
3. The preferred information collection procedures and methodologies

Audit

The Audit Service is a licensing verification activity that aims to determine a customer’s or partner’s compliance with Oracle’s licensing terms; it may be initiated only by Oracle LMS. This service helps organizations get a detailed evaluation of their current deployed Oracle estate versus their contractual entitlements. During the engagement, we can provide you with Oracle tools or recommend approved third-party tooling to help you gather usage information. Using this information, we’ll collaborate with you to verify the total number of Oracle assets in use, reconcile actual usage versus contractual entitlements, and provide guidance for addressing any resulting gaps. In addition, this data may be used to highlight opportunities for improvement in your internal controls to help you manage your license deployments.

When you license Oracle software, it’s your responsibility to use your licenses in accordance with the terms and conditions of your license agreements. In addition, if you’re a partner, it’s your responsibility to ensure that you’re selling Oracle licenses in accordance with your resale distribution agreements. Whether you’re a customer or a partner, it’s ultimately your responsibility to ensure that you understand your license rights and that you’re complying with those rights.
